LEGO Awards Grant to Harlem Elementary School

Early Childhood Discovery: 20 West 112 Street NYC 10026


New York City's Early Childhood Discovery and Design Magnet School, PS 185, in Harlem, is one of only 8 schools nationwide to win a prestigious LEGO grant to help them improve their students' 21st century skills, including creative problem solving, communication, and collaboration by adopting the LEGO Education BuildToExpress methodology.


According to Magnet Specialist Nick Cracco, " We are pleased to be acknowledged with this grant which will fund our school and train our teachers for the next 3 years in the LEGO Education BuiltToExpress method."


Early Childhood Discovery and Design Magnet School, PS#185 officially opened their LEGO lab in January 2013.


One of 8 Magnet schools in Manhattan's District 3 from 59th Street to 122nd Street, The Early Childhood Magnet School for Discovery & Design, 20 West 112th Street, provides additional educational options for New York City families. Funded by the Federal Government, this elementary school offers a specially designed curriculum created around an engineering theme.
